Michoacán ingredients.
Honest cooking.
A table without rush.
At Marogui we believe the best cooking starts with a great ingredient. We work with seasonal products from different regions of Michoacán, and a cuisine that respects their origin. We cook to share, to talk, and to enjoy the table without rushing.
The taste of Michoacán
in the heart of Morelia.
Marogui is part of the Hotel de la Soledad, a building with more than two centuries of history located in the heart of Morelia's Historic Center.
Amid cantera-stone courtyards, colonial architecture and one of the city's most iconic spaces, our kitchen has found the ideal setting to celebrate Michoacán's gastronomic richness. Every dish is born from respect for the land, its ingredients and the people who make them possible.
Every day we welcome both visitors to Morelia and those who call it home. We want everyone to find the same thing: honest cooking, warm hospitality and a table you always want to come back to.
Marogui's kitchen is led by Chef Antonio Toxqui, whose approach is rooted in respect for the ingredient, seasonality and Michoacán's gastronomic richness. His philosophy seeks to let every ingredient keep its identity, allowing technique to support the product without overshadowing it — giving life to an honest cuisine, rooted in the land and meant to be shared around the table.
The Ingredient Leads the Way
It all starts at the source. We select seasonal ingredients from the lake, the fields and the Michoacán sierra, prioritizing quality, seasonality and the work of local producers. Our cooking seeks to respect the essence of each ingredient and let its flavor speak for itself.
A Cuisine That Follows the Season's Rhythm
The seasons set the rhythm of our kitchen. Ingredient availability inspires a menu in constant evolution, with dishes, special menus and offerings that reflect the time of year and Michoacán's gastronomic diversity.
Hospitality That Invites You to Stay
Marogui is meant to be enjoyed without rushing. Whether it's breakfast, a meal with friends, a business meeting or a special celebration, we want every visit to combine great food, attentive service and the pleasure of sharing around the table.
Our home
is your home.
We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance, especially on weekends and for parties of six or more.
